The FDA is a federal government agency that regulates 80 percent of the food supply. The agency investigates food companies for potential violations in food safety and mislabeling and posts its warning letters weekly.

State Attorneys General (AG)

State AG offices have broad jurisdiction over consumer protection and can investigate potential violations with their subpoena power.

National Advertising Division (NAD)

NAD is an industry-driven voluntary system of advertising oversight that operates in partnership with the Better Business Bureau. Advertising challenges adjudicated through NAD provides an alternative to class action litigation.
